Materials: a glass cube, aluminium cans, soil, bark, aluminium from the cans
The work explores human interaction with nature through the themes of landscape pollution, the destruction of ecosystems and the consequences of waste accumulation. The sharp forms symbolise humanity’s aggressive interference with the natural environment.
Despite nature’s capacity for self-purification, this process has its limits. When the rate at which waste accumulates exceeds the natural rate of its decomposition, ecosystems lose their balance and edge towards ecological disaster.
